Community Invovement

The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
 

We at Bethany believe that sharing is a vital ministry.  We believe that one of the Christian principles is simply giving ourselves away to God and one another.  We reach deep into our community living into the words of our Savior.

"When you come to faith, strengthen your brothers and sisters."   (Luke.22:32)

  • Food Pantry - we maintain and operate an in-house food pantry which is solely supported by our congregation.

  • Little People's Clothing Closet - we maintain an in-house clothing closet for the children in our community.

  • Habitat for Humanity - we are involved with building houses for approved families by Stanly County's chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

  • Stanly Community Christian Ministries - we support SCCM with food and monetary donations, who in turn provide emergency food assistance to Stanly County residents in need.

  • Stanly County Community Table - our church volunteers on a regular schedule to help feed the needy of our community.

  • Pregnancy Resource Center - we work closely with the Pregancy Resource Center of Stanly County and support them with monetary and baby item donations.

  • Britthaven Singing - a group from our church conducts a hymn sing for the Britthaven residents at 7 pm on the first Wednesday of each month.

 

Bethany UMC is also home to: Divorce Care, Girl Scout Troup #, and Girl Scout Troup #.
